The gaiter is not waterproof but dense enough to repel light rain and snow but with a very high level of breathability. A major injury risk during winter is the Achilles tendon getting wet, cold and stiff. Sealing the edge of the shoe, and adding warmth to this area, helps prevent this problem.

There are three sizes:

Small (for sizes L5.5-L8)
Medium (for sizes L8.5/7-10)
Large (for sizes 10.5-13)
